Te Papu

Tuesday, May 22rd, Afternoon

After hitting up Mt Victoria we went to the national museum, Te Papu. This museum has all kinds of history about the Maori people and was really neat to see, as well as being free. But we had a bonus while there. The travelling Lord fo the Rings exhibit was there on its final stop of its world tour. We had seen it in Indy when it was in the states, but since it was back home in New Zealand they showed some never before seen pieces of the collection, like the 20 foot tall miniature of Minas Tirith. Unfortunately there were no pictures allowed, but I really would have liked to get some pictures of that. It was well worth seeing again though. Here is a picture of the outside of the building.
