Favorite Scuba Dive Pictures October 12
Tuesday, May 30 - Second dive of the day
These are my favorite pictures from the dive that I took the camera down. Some of them are pretty good, I guess I got lucky.
This is the best picture I got of a giant clam. They were pretty neat and would close up if you got too close. This one was about 2 to 2 1/2 feet long. The insides were different colors from blue to red.
This was a neat slot looking along a little valley between two parts of the reef. There were all kinds of these valleys, some very shallow and there were many neat fish and corals to look at on the walls of the valleys.
This is a Moorish Idol. You might recognize him from Finding Nemo, the Pixar movie. We saw a number of these on our dives.
This is just a good picture of some nice looking coral. It is really hard to get good color to come through underwater and this picture came out great.
This is one of my absolute favorite pictures. I had to get extremley close for this one but it turned out great. The anemone in the picture was huge and had a number of clownfish living in it.
I found Nemo.
This is one of the two turtles that we saw on this dive. He was munching on some sea fans.
Another picture of the turtle.
Even better picture.
A great closeup of the turtle as he is going for some more food.
These next two pictures just came out great in the pictures witht he color and the fish swimming through them.
The other picture of this piece of coral.
These guys are in the clownfish family, but are not the “classic” clownfish that everyonethings of when they hear clownfish (i.e. not Nemo). I believe these guys are called ‘False Clowns’ but I am not 100% sure on that.
A great over the top view of the fish from the previous picture.
This was the second turtle that we found on this dive. About the size of a large dinner plate, you can see kyle petting it. We saw larger turtles, the biggest had a head the size of a beachball.
A better picture of the turtle.
This is my favorite turtle picture, I took this as he started to swim away. They are incredibly graceful and seem to just glide through the water.
Its hard to see, but if you look closely you can see one of the stingrays that we saw on the trip in this picture. These guys wern’t as big as the famous one that took out the Crocodile Hunter.
Rest in Peace Steve.
Towards the end of the dive we were making a decompression stop and had some picture left on the camera. So here I am.
And again.
