Matamata January 15

Our first stop south of Auckland was in Matamata, about an hour or so south of Auckland. This was where we took the tour of the Hobbiton movie set from the Lord of the Rings films. This was also where we ate at a little deli/shop for the first time and where I got my first taste of meat pies in the form of a sausage roll. Great stuff. I wish they had more of that type of food around here. The food down there was great with real butter and eggs on most of the sandwiches, plus it was cheap.
